This year, make it YOUR BUSINESS to read more books, and buy more books for your loved ones. Buy books to peak interest, to stay aware, and to unlock a new love, a new leisure, and a new hobby for your friends and family.

Here’s what I know:

• Children and young adults are facing an illiteracy crisis in the United States at record-breaking numbers.

• Adult literacy is also at an all-time high in the United States.

• Budget cuts on a local level have been slowly cutting back dollars on libraries, schools, and other institutions that promote learning, independence, and knowledge.

• There is a genocide, conflict, and a propaganda war that is waging on minds that are not well-read.

• Banning books has become the new normal.

If 2023 didn’t show us anything else, it showed us that this is not just a national problem; it honestly became a YOU problem. And what we are doing in our households, in conversations with our friends, leveraging our careers, and even interacting with our children is a direct reflection of the things we consume and the things we read.

I’ve always said that Cindelle’s Bookstore was not just a regular business but a place to help ail community issues. In 2024, shop intentionally. Not because it's trendy or comfortable but because it’s necessary.
